Unsettling Events - by John Na'em Snobar - November
Eine Krone für Zion
Remains perhaps the most relevant critique of the dangerous relationship that defines the alliance between Jewish anti-Semites and Aryan anti-Semites. 'If Zionists and anti-Semites share a worldview that is already a poor one, then it must soon be over', Kraus noted. The so-called reluctant prophet also quipped that 'diplomacy is a game of chess in which the nations are checkmated.'
I have written already about the House of Lords, and queried why it is then that the Archbishop of Jerusalem does not sit in that House - even if he is Palestinian Christian. After all, Apostolic succession requires a continuous line of bishops who are consecrated by other bishops, tracing back to the original apostles of Jesus Christ.
It was that same House of Lords that issued the notorious Declaration, 210 days after after the entry of one's former Subjects into the war; culminating in the Aryan Holocaust of the non-Palestinian Jews. As I examine my own heart, and regretfully discover anti-Semitism there; this particular point is not one I will be pursuing, for obvious reasons.
Nonetheless, it cannot also be that the Jewish Question is simply resolved by demographically reversing Palestine's non-Jewish population - in the event known as the Palestinian Exile of 1948AD (or 'Nakba' to Arabs).
Accountability for October 7, 2023
It written that you 'reap what you sow', and so it should come as no surprise that Israel's King Netanyahu - who funded and delivered weapons to Hamas with a view of undermining Palestinian unity - will be known as the leader that brought about the State of Israel's demise. This demise has commenced, as the State of Israel tires of war. Cracks appear in its national identity, leaving the country vulnerable to foreign interference, and foretelling of an eventual civil war (which has started in all but name).
Hebraic thought and the Palestinian mind
Due to the brutal occupation of Palestine/return of the non-Palestinian Jews, many Palestinians have been deprived of the rich history of Hebraic thought traditions. This tradition comes into unfathomable conflict with the Palestinian worldview, which is similarly rich, in a different way; and perhaps more romantic.
Anyone who has examined their heart for hate, and found it there becomes anguished by regret at not having learnt about this sooner. My personal greatest regret was not having attended Union Theological Seminary's Interreligious Engagement Class. There I learnt what years of lawyering, politicking and diplomacy failed to teach me; it drives me to despair to consider this now, given the circumstances of the genocide/not-genocide.
Practical matters
Now, the Arabs know that you can have either annexation, or a State of Palestine, but you cannot have both. The (dis)United States therefore finds herself in the most challenging position of all, having chosen to recognize on the one hand Jerusalem as the 'indivisible' capital of the State of Israel, while simultaneously arguing against both annexation and recognition of the State of Palestine. Even for Ishmaelites, this Trinity will prove untenable - whether or not this message is expressed by Diplomatic Note, or on the Arab street.
Few, I suspect, understand the full breadth of what is at stake here; mistaking what they misunderstand as the Dragon's ambitions for the unifying force of the Brotherhood. And the astute analyst should - by now - fully understand the role of the Palestinian Christian leader, in both maintenance of the monarchic system that underpins the function/narration; as well as enlivens important prophetic elements for Jews and Christians; while also addressing - in a more gentle way than that done to date - the matter of Jew-hatred. There remains plenty of room for questions of authenticity - but if we are truly honest - this goes both ways.
A tightly packed Cairo lunchbox could very well flip the Mother of the Universe on her head completely; but no harm shall come to pass, unless harm shall come to pass.
